June 19, 2018 - Day 18: Chapin Bay to Red Bluff Bay

27 nautical miles covered in 4 hours of cruising.
Highlights: remarkably, just when we thought the views couldn't get any better...they did!  More impressive snow-capped mountain ranges, cathedral-like towering cliffs, cascading waterfalls (by the dozen).  Wow!

A perfect start to an amazing day: early sun burning off the last remnants of the night's fog.

Moxie and Mark also mesmerized by the shifting fog....

LOTS of strange, reddish-orange jelly fish.  They're everwhere, and Moxie is transfixed by their movement and how they seem to sense your presence... 

Pulling anchor, we realize the jelly fish have enjoyed our nylon line and galvanized chain.  They are stuck to hundreds of feet of anchor rode, making for a bit of a clean-up task as we ready to search out Red Bluff Bay

Today's water is absolute glass, which will bode well for taking pictures of the tugs with spectacular back-drops, as well as for spotting Humpback Whale.  Glassy water, sunshine, no wind...are we really in Alaska?

A last look at "Whole In The Wall" as we exit Chapin Bay...

The picture below of Seaquel just may end up framed on a wall back home.  A back-drop of rugged mountains with lingering snow; this is how I imagined boating in Alaska would be.  Truly livin' the dream, and feeling so very blessed!

They got this name right: "Red Bluff Bay"

Today's challenge: keep Seaquel in mid-channel as we turn a corner in Red Bluff Bay to reveal yet another jaw-dropping view that begs to be photographed...
